GET TO WORK

In a world that tends to train the ambitious and where nothing comes easy, it is tragic to see a myriad of young people opting for the easiest route. At 17, I was inspired by a close friend by the name of Goldie, who, at just 19, refused to let life happen. She worked as a lawyer's secretary diligently, and her drive ignited something in me. I later realized that there was never an option of sitting idle at home, let alone if I did not want to grow up and become someone that was dependent on others for his or her needs.

Goldie's determination showed me what I thought of not doing. My mum once said, "You only get what they are willing to give when you depend on other people—not what you really need." And this was evident when I stepped out to work my ass out. I made sure I stayed productive until my college admission letter arrived in 2010. Even in School I took positions that will keep me busy at the same time earn some token to balance what I was receiving from home. At such early age, we knew that self-reliance and hard work were the key to a meaningful and successful life.

But what I see now is different. All I see is young individuals who are wasting their potential, lying in their beds, and simply expecting riches without hard work or labour. Having dreams of becoming like Aliko Dangote or Bill Gates but refuse to understand and accept that these two sacrificed comfort and hours to get them where they are today. These people knew that hard work and persistence is the only thing that can bring about success, and not abstract dreams.

Even more troubling is the rise of opportunism among the youth. Some grown men, who could be fathers, choose to chase wealthy women, exploiting them instead of working. They spend their days scrolling through social media, searching for the next wealthy target, living off whatever they can get. Likewise, some young women degrade themselves on questionable dating sites, join useless pimping groups, exchanging their bodies for money while pretending to be something they are not in the publics eye. What happens when you are of age and unable to present yourself like you do today?

It is time to wake up! The saying "Cheaters never prosper" is true. Those who rely on deceit and laziness will eventually face the consequences. If your current hustle is not paying, look for another. keep trying until you make it. Consistency is the actual key to success and not the short cuts. Today, Goldie is a CEO and making it huge in the cosmetics and fragrance industry and that was achieved through consistency and hard work.

If you think you can be an OPPORTUNIST forever you will end up going into your grave single and broke and useless to your family and to Mankind!!! If even a WOMAN feels it unpleasant to be home without working how much more, you as a man? For even the Bible says that the hands that does not work should not be fed! If you think dating rich women and men will be the solution or way to your lazy ass, then you are deceiving yourself.

Most people today are too educated to fish out OPPORTUNIST like you, yes, you! So, get your lazy asses up and GET TO WORK!!!
