Shattered Promises: A Tale of Resilience and Healing

Coral sat on the beach, enjoying the cool breeze, scrolling through her phone as a way to unwind after work. In the distance, she noticed a man with striking features, which caught her admiration. They ended up sitting together in silence for a while, and Coral couldn't help but feel nervous. When the sunset, she gathered her things and headed home, feeling puzzled by the encounter.

To her surprise, the next day the man sat on her beach mat again. Wanting to avoid a repeat of the previous awkwardness, Coral chose a different spot. However, he joined her once more, introducing himself as Daemon. They engaged in a long conversation and exchanged contact information, leaving Coral grinning with happiness.

This connection was a significant milestone for Coral, who had felt lonely throughout her life. She had faced the challenges of her parents' divorce and worked hard to build a successful career. At 38 years old, she owned her own apartment and remained focused on her work, never having been in a romantic relationship.

Unbeknownst to Daemon, Coral started developing feelings for him and eagerly accepted his invitation to visit her. Excitedly, she prepared for his arrival and welcomed him into her solitary world. They continued getting to know each other better, and Coral felt herself falling in love for the first time.

However, as their relationship progressed, Coral discovered that Daemon relied on her for financial support and made excuses whenever she wanted to visit his place. Eventually, Coral found out she was pregnant, unsure of what the future held. When Coral's father learned about the pregnancy, he advised her to marry Daemon. However, Daemon disappeared after the wedding, leaving Coral depressed. Despite numerous attempts, Daemon remained unreachable. 

Months passed, and Coral found herself in the 38th week of her pregnancy. With the impending delivery approaching, she decided to seek support from her mother. As a last resort, Coral dialed Daemon's number one more time, and to her surprise, he answered the call. Overwhelmed with tears, she pleaded for his company on the journey to her mother's house, as she couldn't drive herself. Against all odds, Daemon agreed to accompany her, and together they embarked on a lengthy journey.

Upon arriving at her mother's house, Daemon abruptly expressed his desire to leave. Coral's mother, taken aback by his sudden departure, chose not to question his request. Unbeknownst to her mother, Coral was facing financial difficulties. She had invested all her money into Daemon and his family, resorting to multiple loans just to make ends meet. Consequently, she arrived at her mother's house without enough cash to cover her hospital bills and other expenses.

Coral couldn't muster the courage to disclose her dire situation to her mother. However, being an astute elder, her mother sensed that something was amiss and took it upon herself to cover Coral's bills and other expenses throughout her stay.

During her time at her mother's house, Daemon never bothered to visit or check up on Coral and the progress of her pregnancy. As the delivery date drew closer, Coral made numerous attempts to reach out to Daemon, but he never showed up. Instead, he would call demanding money from her, which she reluctantly sent, despite her own financial constraints.

Finally, the moment of delivery arrived, and Coral's mother made desperate attempts to contact Daemon, but all in vain. He failed to respond or show up at the hospital. In his absence, Coral's mother assumed the roles of both husband and mother, providing care and support during the delivery. Whenever the doctor inquired about the father's whereabouts, she resorted to lies to protect Coral's well-being.

Coral successfully gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and her mother brought them home. As the time for the baby's public introduction neared, Coral's mother, filled with anger, confronted Daemon over the phone. It was during this confrontation that Daemon began revealing uncertainties and inconsistencies. Determined to find answers, Coral's mother reached out to Daemon's relatives and invited them to the public introduction ceremony. However, on the designated day, neither Daemon nor any of his relatives showed up.

Enraged by this betrayal, Coral's family decided to dig deeper into the matter. To their astonishment, they discovered that Daemon's family was already aware of his involvement with another woman who had been living with him in his apartment even before he met Coral. According to his brother, Daemon had been in a relationship with this woman prior to his association with Coral. When confronted, Daemon confessed that he never truly loved Coral. 

He revealed that his brother had encouraged him to pursue Coral due to their disadvantaged background, hoping that she could provide financial assistance. Marrying Coral had never been Daemon's intention, but circumstances had spiraled out of control, and he merely went along with it. In a callous manner, he mentioned that Coral desired a baby, and he had fulfilled that desire, suggesting that the family should leave him alone.

The revelation of Daemon's true intentions and the extent of his deceit left Coral's family devastated and furious. They vowed to uncover the complete truth behind his actions and sought justice for Coral and her innocent child. After a thorough investigation, the family's suspicions were confirmed as they unraveled the truth behind the rumors. Little did Coral's family know that she had been engaging in secret communication with Daemon all along. In a desperate bid to salvage their crumbling relationship, Coral went to great lengths, including arranging a transfer to Daemon's town without his or her family's knowledge, hoping that he would have a change of heart and reconcile with her and their baby.

Two months later, Coral summoned the courage to reveal her secret to her mother during their journey back to their hometown. She confided in her mother about the transfer and sought her assistance in securing a loan from the bank to cover the expenses of her new apartment in the town. Although taken aback by this revelation, Coral's mother reluctantly agreed to support her daughter, understanding the immense challenges she was already facing. Together, they made the necessary arrangements and Coral settled into her new place. With her mother's help, she found a nanny to care for their child, allowing Coral to focus on rebuilding her life.

Once her mother left, Coral spared no effort in her attempts to bring Daemon back into her life. Against all odds, her persistence paid off when he unexpectedly showed up at her doorstep. However, instead of a glimmer of hope, Coral was met with a devastating blow. Daemon returned the engagement ring she had bought, a clear sign that he had no intention of pursuing their planned marriage. Overwhelmed and speechless, Coral could only watch as he briefly held their young son before departing, leaving her in a state of profound shock and tearful despair.

At times, her mother had to send her money daily to ensure she could continue working. Life remained challenging for Coral, but her indomitable spirit persisted. She made a solemn vow that her son would be her entire world, and she would stop at nothing to provide him with the best life possible, even without the presence of a father figure. Over time, Coral slowly repaid her debts, growing weary of the constant hardships. Eventually, she made the decision to request a transfer back to her hometown, where she owned a property. Returning to familiar grounds, she sought a fresh start and has since been steadily working toward that goal.
